The Canadian dollar was tanking pretty hard during our holiday. Thankfully I'm such a bargain shopper that even with the dismal exchange, I still managed to get some great deals shopping. I owe a particular debt of gratitude to Ross Fashion for Less. Oh Ross, how many happy hours we've had together!
As usual, my purchases were heavy on the dresses. Dresses are my go-to for work clothes and they have such great options and good prices at Ross, I tend to stock up. I try to find ones that will work through a variety of seasons. However one of my favourite purchases this time was a black lace dress that is probably best suited for spring/summer, given that the sleeves aren't lined. It is currently sitting in my closet taunting me, as the weather continues to be most decidedly winterish. We'll be together soon though buddy!
Aside from all the dresses, I bought a few tops and one very cute skirt. I also bought a new purse - see photo. This one was from Burlington Coat Factory (they do have more than coats!) and I was immediately drawn to it. I loved the boho vibe of the pattern and the quilting. On closer inspection I saw it was a Vera Bradley so that was the deciding factor. I snapped it up! I've always liked her designs when I've seen them in magazines. It's nice to finally own a piece from her collection.
All in all, Phoenix did not disappoint with the shopping. And even better, thanks to my new Amazon visa (with no foreign transaction fee) it wasn't too painful when I got home and had to pay the piper.
