Today and yesterday were spent meeting and connecting with some of our colleagues in Regina and Moose Jaw. We toured some of their gembas but mostly it was about taking time to connect and see how things are going, where we could offer support, etc.
Most of the people we met with are long-time colleagues. Our organization has been around for just over ten years and in that time, we've worked with regional quality folks on lots of different initiatives and programs. One thing I will say about health care in Saskatchewan is that it's a small community but there is genuine love and respect all around. We might not always agree on how we do things, but we share the same purpose. There are many good, dedicated people working to make our health system the best in the world.
It was nice to connect and hear people speak so fondly of the work that we've done, and how much they look forward to continuing to work with us. It was heartwarming, to say the least! At times I think we've felt like we've pushed ourselves on regions. It was nice to know that we've finally created pull. One of the programs that people are missing most is a learning program I helped develop. We had good feedback at the time, but the perspective of time has really helped us understand the value of the learning. It made me proud that I was a part of it, and that I will continue to get to contribute to this community.
