I'm a pretty introverted person so having lots of time alone doesn't really bother me. Plus, I've had regular visits from family and friends so haven't felt isolated or lonely. (And I kind of enjoy being a little lonely sometimes.)
Even if people don't visit me in the day (I guess people are working!) I still have good company. Yup, my little boo bear isn't too chatty but he's a great companion. He's always ready for a nap whenever I am and is very gentle with his snuggles these days. It's like he knows there's something different with me, and he's quite careful around me. He's been enjoying his free range time - he spends most of the day snoozing wherever he can find a patch of sunlight. Punctuated with the occasional barking fit at the mailman or passersby, of course.
As part of my recovery from surgery, I'm not supposed to pick up anything over 10 lbs. Wicket is 20+ so he's definitely off limits for lifting. I've really missed scooping him up and holding him close for a good snuggle. The first few days I was home, he would jump at me, which is his way of asking me to pick him up. But now I think he's realized that I can't, so he's being much better about jumping onto the bed without my help. I'll be glad when I can hold him again. He's a little over-sized for a lap dog but nevertheless we are both convinced he is one!
