At my appointment with Dr. D on Wednesday I got the go-ahead to start running again. Basically I can start to return to my activities as long as I'm not working my chest muscles too hard (no bench pressing!) and as long as it feels good.
Dr. D cautioned me to run slowly at first, which gave me a good chuckle. Do I run any other way?! At least now I have an iron-clad reason for my pace - it's for medical reasons! Yes, I would otherwise be running with the speed and grace of a gazelle but sadly - the doctor says I have to go slowly.
I did manage to get out for a jaunt the other day and it was lovely. I ran for 20 minutes at a nice, easy pace. While I'm not going to run a half marathon any time soon, it felt so good to be out.
