So sometimes the universe gives you a sign that you need to make some changes in your life. I've had a few signs all but hitting me over the head the last little while. For one thing, this is the most unwell I've felt in my life. I wake up every morning with Tamoxifen-induced aching joints. My medication also seems to be causing a lot of fatigue. This has all conspired to bump me off the fitness wagon and I am definitely feeling like a pudgy bear.
Add to that, when we went through security at the airport I had to go through one of the body scanners. After I had been zapped, the security guard grabbed one of my chubby fat rolls to make sure it was human flesh and not smuggled goods. Well geez, if that doesn't make a lady want to get in better shape what will?!
I decided that I needed to approach this like an improvement project. First step - kick off the campaign so that everyone (or in this case, just me) feels inspired. This next quarter will be dedicated to making healthy, positive changes. With that in mind, I've re-named November - henceforth it will be known as "New Leaf November". A time to get into some healthy habits. Specifically:
I've put together a safety calendar so I can gather data on how I'm doing. I hope to see dots on every day but if not, I can explore why I didn't reach my goals.
Here's to a healthier, happier me!

- Eating healthy and tracking calories.
- Doing some kind of fitness (physical or mental - like meditation) daily.
- Doing something for myself (blogging, reading, sewing) every day.
