Another recovery milestone today! The home care nurse made her last visit. My dressings have looked good the last couple days, so I don't need to have them on anymore.
This is exciting in itself but even better - I can now shower whenever I dang well feel like it. No more waiting for the nurse to call - a little bit more independence for me.
I still have to wear the tensure bandage until I meet with Dr. D next week. And because it goes all the way around my chest, Dennis has to help me with it. So I'm not totally self-reliant yet. But still, it's nice to coordinate my day with Dennis rather than home care. Not that I don't appreciate all the great support I received from home care - but I'm glad that my healing is progressing well with no major hiccups so far. That's all a person can really ask for!
