Yesterday was errand day for us. This long weekend came at just the right time- I feel like I could really use an extra day so that I don't feel so rushed with everything I need to do. Even better, Mom is cooking turkey dinner so I really get to put my feet up and relax.
On our errand list today: popping into Target to buy new sheets for the bed. When I was perusing their flyer the other day, I noticed they had some nice flannel ones on sale. Okay...full disclosure. What really caught my eye was they had sheets with a Westie/Scottie print. Terriers! As it turns out, we can use some new flannel sheets but I will be totally honest - I was probably going to buy those suckers no matter what. I love a Westie print. (They just don't make enough things in a terrier print, in my opinion.)
The other thing we picked up in Target was this French terry sweatshirt for Dennis:

It's hard to tell from the picture but it's a bear in a sweater. (So it can be casual or dressy.)
We took a peek at the Halloween section while we were there. They finally have some dog costumes in but seriously - no responsible pet parent would leave it until October! Pet Smart has their costumes out end of August and those things sell out quickly. Target needs to get their crap together if they want to tap into the fur child market! Even Wal-Mart has their pet costumes in no later than mid-September. Sheesh.
Anyway, it was a lovely day for gently puttering around the house and the city. Usually Saturdays feel jam-packed. Even though we probably did the same amount of stuff today, it didn't feel so rushed because I wasn't also thinking about everything I had to cram into Sunday. I do need to do some work this weekend (I have some deadlines that can't be ignored) but for today, I wasn't touching my computer. A much needed break!
